Z-stack thumbnails on the well page were re-downloading every time the page refreshed in the background, even though the images were already sitting in the browser's cache. Switching between Z-levels now stays instant across those refreshes, and a thumbnail that fails to load recovers automatically the next time the page refreshes rather than staying blank until you reload.
