Jimmy Sastra, PhD

CEO & Co-founder

Jimmy has 18 years of experience in robotics, applied optimization, and lab automation. As VP of Engineering at Strateos, the world’s first biology cloud lab, he brought up over 20 automated workcells with unique workflows in biological assays, chemistry, and synthetic biology. In his free time, he loves running triathlons.

Yang Choo

CTO

Yang has 10+ years of experience at the intersection of in vitro and in silico engineering and modeling. He began at Transcriptic and rose to become a key technical leader, architecting foundational solutions across the stack. Outside of work, he enjoys playing badminton and loves to hike.

Amit Gupta

COO

Amit has 20+ years of experience across a multitude of technology companies. Over the last decade, he has been an executive building software companies in wet lab (Benchling), bioinformatics (Seqera/Nextflow), lab automation (Monomer Bio), and security (Lookout Mobile Security). He has also made a dozen investments across life sciences software, health tech, and generative AI.

Carter Allen

Head of Growth & CX

Carter has 10 years of experience designing and deploying Lab Automation systems, from inventing research devices for UCLA to developing "lights-out" Automation at Counsyl. Carter now leads Growth and Customer Experience at Monomer Bio, designing and implementing automated systems to advance drug discovery.

Kay Mei Leong

Software Engineer

Kay Mei is a software engineer with 3 years of experience building SaaS analytics products at ByteDance, where she worked on enterprise security. In university, she joined iGEM as wiki lead and other competitions, creating impactful science-driven solutions.

Nathaniel Alcedo

Software Engineer

Nate has 8 years of software engineering experience, covering everything from writing code and managing infrastructure to leading teams. In his spare time, he enjoys playing chess and spending time with his dog.

Mark Zhang

Co-founder & Advisor

Mark has 10 years of experience developing user-centric AI analytics and bioinformatics software. He was an early engineer at Kensho, an MIT/Harvard-based startup that became the largest AI acquisition in history to date. On the non-profit side, Mark has helped train scientists around the world, including bat hunters in Madagascar, to track infectious disease using high-throughput sequencing.
