Monitor AI Assistant, Z-Stack Navigation & Plate Export

April 5, 2026
Whole Plate Image Export

A new "Export Plate Image" option in the plate toolbar Actions dropdown renders all well montage images onto a canvas with row letters and column numbers, plus the Monomer Bio logo, and downloads the result as a high-quality 2x resolution JPEG. Use the E keyboard shortcut for quick access.

Z-Stack Well Navigation

The well page now supports full Z-stack navigation. A scrollable vertical gallery lets you browse through individual Z-planes with image filter support, while a toggle switches between the MIP composite and individual Z-stack slices. Your Z-level selection persists across observations, and sprites are preloaded in the background for smooth scrolling.

Monitor AI Assistant

A new AI-powered assistant panel is available from any page in Culture Monitor. Ask questions about your plate data, request culture reviews, or get help navigating your workspace through natural conversation. The assistant uses streaming responses with tool-call indicators, supports multiple conversations, and operates in read-only mode for now — write and export capabilities will follow. Powered by Pydantic AI with SSE streaming. The feature is gated behind a feature flag and available on request.
